Are Mobile Phones Taking Over Our Lives?
The headline of the article I have read is "Are Mobile Phones Taking Over Our Lives?". The article is written by Bethan Morgan and this is published in "British Council" on the 14 of July.
The article is devoted to problem such as dependence on the phone. According to the author in nowadays most of people use their smartphones every time everywhere.
The author writes that use of a phone has lost its previous meaning. Earlier mobile phone was used for receive calls and text messages. But in our days we use it for playing games, reading articles or checking new messages in social networks. The author says that people prefer chatting in Facebook, but talking to people ‘in real life’ is less preferable. Further the author says that using of old, basic phone is really enjoyable. All you could do it on this phone is send text messages and receive calls. Therefore you spend more time in "real life". You are free from the Internet. You talking with real people and reading real book/newspaper.
The author comes to the conclusion that basic phones are better than smartphones. But people are so depended on their phones that they can't imagine their life without it.
I personally don't have a smartphone and my life is really normal without it. From my point of view a smartphones have more disadvantages. I think that there is no need to overpay money for this kind of technology. We can use the Internet from the computer and talking with friend in real life.
